7th Annual Wig Out! Benefiting Wigs For Kids
Friday, October 13, 2017, Midtown Tallahassee
The GFWC Junior Woman's Club of MIdtown is delighted to announce the 2017 Wig Out raised $2,021.25 to go directly to Wigs For Kids, a nonprofit organization that provides custom hair systems for children who have lost their hair due to injury or illness. To everyone who attended or donated, including our friends at Thompson, Crawford & Smiley, whose generous donations helped us beat our goal, thank you for making a difference!
The goal of the GFWC Junior Woman’s Club of Midtown's annual Wig Out fundraiser is to raise funds and awareness for children who have lost their hair due to injury or illness. Donning their wildest wigs, members collect donations at participating Midtown establishments, staying for approximately 30 minutes in each location.
All proceeds benefit Wigs for Kids, a nonprofit organization that, since 1981, has provided hair replacement systems and support for children who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, Alopecia, Trichotillomania, burns and other medical issues at no cost to children or their families.
It costs $1,800 to produce one custom hair replacement system, and our goal every year is to raise at least that amount. The community can help by making a donation one of three ways:
